Team Dreamhouse Kes & Tash

Happy New Year everyone! It’s been a loooong time since I’ve written anything on here. This year though, I’m making it one of my goals to take a more active role in Team Dreamhouse.

Tash & I are partners in this crazy house journey we’ve set out on. But up to this point, her voice has been the one you guys have gotten most acquainted with. My presence on the other hand, has been mostly as the “project” guy in the background.

I’m the guy you see in photos, covered in dust and operating power tools – which tends to give people the impression that I’m just the execution guy. What you might not know about me is that I’m also a creative. As designer in the digital spaces by trade, I have have an eye for colour & texture and I’ve been right there with Tash in the midst of all the design decisions we’ve made thus far in the house.

And for the record – there was absolutely zero arm twisting required for the fuschia purple barn door in our master bath. LOL!

In the upcoming posts, I’ll be getting into the details of a few of the smaller projects we haven’t yet talked about.  The plan is to take a step back into projects like our media wall, the faux fireplace, LED lighting, and a couple of the things we’ve implemented to make the Dreamhouse “smart”.

We’ve also got a lot of really cool projects that we’re planning for 2018, so I hope you guys will stick with me as I try to see this thing through. 🙂

I always heard your “voice” in the house design even when it was Tash writing. I think the teamwork you two have is obvious. And that’s so key isn’t it? A team can draw the best from each other and build more than they could achieve separate.
I’m looking forward to this new year too!
