Hi friends!! WOW! We’re seriously overwhelmed at the responses we’ve received since we posted the reveal of Kash’s ‘Modern Marvel’ Bedroom.  You guys have sent so many amazing comments & messages and we honestly can’t thank you enough.  We thought it only fitting that we do our part to spread some of that love around, so we’ve teamed back up with Kichler Lighting to giveaway a few of the pieces that they so generously sponsored for Kash’s bedroom. If you happened to catch our story on Instagram a few weeks ago, you might remember that we were originally torn between 2 potential ceiling light fixtures for Kash’s room. We put things out to a vote so that you guys could help us decide but as it turned out, both fixtures were huge hits.

The Moderne

The Moderne was the one that initially caught our attention because of its strikingly unique design. It features up and down directional LED lighting that is separated by offset square and rectangular panels and a suspended cable design.  The circular styling of the fixture immediately made me think of the kind of crown T’Challa might wear which tied in perfectly with our Black Panther inspired design. Given the large scale of the room however, we were initially unsure whether it would provide enough light for the space – which is why we had our eye on another fixture.

 

The Armstrong

The Armstrong was our second choice for the ceiling fixture. With its classic Mid-Century modern design we knew it would also make a beautiful complement to the MCM desk that we designed for the space. The Armstrong features a “sputnik” design and adjustable arms which allow the shape to be customized to your space. A 10 light chandelier, we had no concerns about the amount of light this fixture would provide.

Our thoughts on the Moderne…

Ultimately, as you, we ended up choosing the Moderne, and it turned out to be the perfect choice for the space! The fixture measures 26″ in diameter, and even though we knew the dimensions, it feels much larger in person than we expected it would. It’s definitely a statement piece. It’s also extremely sturdy – and heavy so make sure you’ve got an extra set of strong hands to hold the fixture as you install it! The suspended cable design allows the height to be adjusted up to 81″ and each of the 4 cables are adjusted independently which was perfect for installing it on Kash’s angled ceiling. The fixture is beautifully bright and lights up Kash’s very large room effortlessly.

 

 

The Trinsic

We also installed the Trinsic 22″ LED Bath Light on the wall next to Kash’s bed. This light is typically used above a vanity, but who says it needs to be confined to a bathroom??  We opted to install it vertically on the wall which makes for a fantastic bedside sconce for nighttime reading. It provides a ton of light, and the “X” styling of it complements the LED blacklighting on Kash’s geometric feature wall perfectly! #WakandaForever

We love the fixtures we chose & couldn’t be happier with them now that Kash’s room is all complete. They’re the perfect accents to our modern/futuristic superhero design but will also last in the space long after he outgrows the superhero theme – which will probably be never, lol!
