Kash whining

Being a parent is a tough job. Kids – especially young ones are unpredictable. One minute they’re smiling, the next they’re saying something hilarious, and sometimes they’re just completely irrational.

We came across this Tumblr today that has been blowing up all over the Internet in the last few days, and I couldn’t help but laugh…like serious, tears spilling down my cheeks laugh. Mostly because I CAN SOOO RELATE TO THIS!
Reasons My Son is Crying

As many of you know, our son Kash is 3 and a half. Right now he’s going through a whining phase.

He whines. Over. Everything.

It’s the most annoying sound in the world.  Like I would rather punch myself in the face & stick screwdrivers in my ears than endure this incessant whining.  Ok – maybe that’s a bit extreme – but anyone who’s ever listened to a 3 year old whine for 3 hours straight understands where I’m coming from.  Don’t judge.

In any case, in the spirit of the Tumblr that made me laugh, and cry & feel that much better because we aren’t the only ones going through this, tonight we bring you the Team Dreamhouse edition we’re calling:

S#*t our kid is whining about…

Kash whining - because he doesn't want to go home after school

Because he doesn’t want to go home after school

Kash whining - because he wants ravioli instead of macaroni & cheese for dinner

Because he wants ravioli instead of macaroni & cheese for dinner

Kash whining - because he doesn't want to go pee

Because he doesn’t want to go pee

Kash whining - because I am holding his shirt up while he goes pee

Because I am holding his shirt up while he goes pee

Kash whining - because I moved his plate closer to him and apparently he can do it himself

Because I moved his plate closer to him and apparently he can do it himself

*NOTE This is all over the course of ONE evening! Sigh…

I guess we just have to keep telling ourselves that ‘this too shall pass’  and then maybe we can get our smiling sweet faced boy back.  Until then at least we can try to laugh about it.

Is anyone else out there going through the same thing?  Is there any end in sight??

Lady, it does pass. And then it comes back with a vengeance. I too am at my wits end with a 4.5 yrd old whiner and a 3 yr old screamer. Not sure which is worse. Lol but at the end of the day, they are beautiful blessings from god and I am grateful for each moment of the ride.

And the ear plug paste Stuff from shoppers is a good send 😛

    Good luck!!!! Xo

Bwhwhwha! I just came across this and I had to chime in. My kid is the same!! Sometimes I think he has one volume setting: whine. And the things they complain about – there aren’t enough grapes in his bowl – he wanted to walk on the subway tracks (!!!) – I wanted to hold his hand – his complaints are varied and utterly baseless!!

So yeah, I feel your pain and you certainly aren’t alone in wanting to stick screwdrivers in your ears! 🙂

OMG this made me laugh so hard! I remember the days…. and with my youngest coming up to puberty (and being a girl) I’m anticipating more of same. I feel your pain 🙂
