Halloween is in exactly one week. And we haven’t started working on our costumes. Aaaaaand cue panic!
Anyone who knows us well, knows this is the time of year where we go all out. There’s just a certain satisfaction that comes from taking a cool idea, applying some brainpower & a few crafting skills and executing an EPIC costume. The fact that I was blessed with a partner that feels the same is nothing more than kismet.
So yes. It’s safe to say that Kes and I, and now Kash by extension, take Halloween pretty seriously. If you don’t believe me, here are a few of the highlights of Halloweens past…
Ola Ray & Michael Jackson – Thriller Night
DJ Lance & Plex – Yo Gabba Gabba
Storm & Black Panther – Marvel Comic Royalty
Kash’s “Scaaaawy Dwagon”
See…I told you we take it seriously. So what do we have in store this year?? Well…you’ll have to wait and see. Hopefully we can get our butts in gear in time! But here are a couple of quick hints: if you remember Kash’s birthday, you might be able to guess what he’s hoping to dress up as. As for Kes & I…let’s just say we have a few ideas that’ll be getting unchained…
Do you enjoy making costumes for yourself or your kids for Halloween? We’d love to hear about them!

I LOVE THESE!!!! My entire street is practically empty for Halloween decor and I already had to give into one store bought costume b/c my older daughter didn’t want a homemade one. I should be your neighbour!

Thanks Alex! Awww…I guess at a certain age it’s not as cool to become one of your parents’ craft projects. Not looking forward to that day! 🙁

Hi, may I please know where you bought the girls thriller costume? LOVE it!
Tash @ thedreamhouseproject
Hi Maya! I actually made it. I got lucky with some great finds at Value Village! I found a perfect blue leopard print shirt which I cut up & used to embellish the jeans & jacket. Nothing more than a little hot glue & time. 🙂
